I am looking for opinions on the Supermicro PIIIDME - Dual PIII motherboard. I also want to know if anyone running this board is also running W2k.

Thanks

Yep, I am interested too...
This looks like to be a pretty good mobo.

Please, let us know !

Well... let me put it this way. Yes, the board sounds great if (and it's a BIG if) you can afford to get the Rambus memory that the board is really designed for.

I had one on backorder myself for over a month but, since I was planning on using SDRAM in it, the more I read of the 820/840 chipsets "problems" and weak performance using SDRAM, the more nervous I became of spending $300+ on a mobo.

To put a long story short... I opted to switch my choince and spend $100 on a new Asus P3V4X mobo instead and sacrifice the dual processor support for a more "stable" platform.

The Asus board is based on the Via Apollo Pro133A chipset and has a lot of the same features that I'd wanted in the PIIIDME. Namely AGP4X, DMA66, 133FSB, plus it seems to be very overclock friendly.

I figure for a C-note, this board will get me by until the Apollo Pro133A DUAL CPU boards come out. Plus I'll be able to transfer all the hardware to the new board at that point.

Anyways, just my 2 cents. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif If you do go ahead and get the PIIIDME, (hard to find due to lengthy backorders) let me know how it goes!

Good luck!!
