agp 2x and 4x question:

is there a big difference between the 2 different agp speeds on the mainboard itself??? this question is keeping my from going with a p3bf or the p5 with the apollo chipset. ive read the 440 bx cant be beat when it comes to games. any ideas?? thanx

I wouldn't let that be a decision maker. First, you'd hardly even notice a difference between 2x and 4x. And that's using a benchmarking program, you definitely wouldn't notice just "by feel".

Second, my understanding is that the 4x AGP bus can transfer so much information that it completely saturates the memory bandwidth. So it's not even close to being used to it's full potential. And it's not all that much more than 2x.
