Apology for Susan

Dear Suzan,

I'm sorry if you misunderstood me or the humor in my post listed in FYI-free ISP.

I assure you that I didn't mean anything the way you took it. There is so much I guess I should have written inbetween the lines - I guess there was too much that I took for granted was implied.

1. I wanted to infer that NetZero, a so called free ISP, was intrusive and comerical and for those reasons I feel that accepting such a deal means giving up something - if not money than time or privacy.

2. I found that message you were getting to be humorous because it meant that they (NetZero)have a way of probing your computer and are aware that your perfectly legitimate program is running. Also I found their audassity in calling you "Naughty" to be presumptive and derogatory - but the situation humorous.

3. On the otherhand, the cracked program that gave me an embarassing message was sent to me by a friend (which I thought was shareware until I put the key codes in a second time - on the second time it displays the message). A program used primarily for copying "copy-protected" CDs, the company almost touts its merits as a pirating tool - they practically advertize it as such. For those reasons I find their message to be particularly ironic and twisted humor. (I suppose I should add here that I WAS ONLY INTERESTED IN COPYING CDs FOR BACKUP). But the truth be known - I had the egg all over my face.

Susan, I have enjoyed all your posts here and learned from them, but you said some pretty harsh things about this "bleary-eyed" internet surfer. It seemed to me like you brought something into that post that wasn't there before.

Very rarely do you see people appologize for any flamming done on BBS.
I lurk on several boards, and do run across the HUY/CAPUTO type troll/flamewars often, but I hardly ever see regulars get into it, then makeup so quickly.

I'm going to start getting into Linux more this coming week, so I'll see you over Popeye's. Quick question for ya'...don't know if you know the answer.

Why is that when I get into X Windows, I cannot access the Control Panel and some other adm. windows? I click but nothing happens. It's like they are not there??

Got a nice book today, but there's nothing in it regarding this problem.

Hey listen everyone-I made a mistake- I am new to message boards and the internet in general. I made an unfortunate post in haste in reply to what I thought at the time was an "anonymous" post accusing me of piracy.

Well I was wrong, and if I had checked it carefully before posting I would have seen that it was from a lonstanding member-whose posts I have learned alot from, and in which case if I took issue with a post of his concerning me-I would have e-mailed him privately.

I realize now that CMonster has done nothing that warrants an apolgy to me.I owe him and this board one-I aplogize.

If this is the only mistake I make well I dont think I have done so bad.

And Susan, I chose the user name "Suzan" because my real name is Susan and my e-mail is Suzan-Thats all. I don't really know how else to respond to your question.
