Well, I need opinions from my friends at sysopt, one of the better established sights on the internet.

I have just started along with two partners a website dedicated to trek gaming and news (I focus on the gaming though.....) and need your opinions and advice, both on the main page and our bbs.

Come here (http://www.farpointstation.net) and look around.

We are struggling for ways to improve our interface... We know what we are looking for (sort of) but it would be a real pain to implement and we want to see if people expect that out of a sight...

Also, this is not a shameless plug, don't flame me! I'm looking for advice.

Not a very good message for a new website. Hope you get the site up soon.

I must say that this is a awsome looking website. Ive been meaning to look for a site like this to keep me update. I didnt stay around very long(I'll do that later), but the only things is the load time, but for the way it looks, its a good trade off. And mostly everybody will get some kind of fast internet connection pretty soon anyway.

Apostle, I'm no trekkie but I took a look anyway.
IMO, your text colors need improvement. More contrast would be easier to read than light grey on medium blue. The dark grey on black links are especially tough.

Hope that helps! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

BTW, I'm running Netscape and my resolution's 1024x768.

What a difference a 't' makes.

I'm not much of a trekkie, so content analysis is not gonna happen.

I did get two browser errors. Both are 'access denied'

So you need to resolve the resources at that location.

I noticed you used frames, though I don't see exactly why. Your page could use tables and look and react exactly the same, but maybe I'm being critical.

The page looks decent, though tweaking the color scheme might help. Hint, choose Star Trek colors. They have to have used some sort of black/blue color scheme at sometime?
