Every year or so I find that I must identify a mobo. I'm working on a machine with AMI Bios, and I recall that the mobo and/or chip set can be ID'ed from the string of numbers on the first boot screen. Can someone remind me of how this is done? Thx.

Hi Brangwen

You could also go to http://www.ping.be/bios/ they' have most BIOS strings there along with instructions how to read it from your POST screen.
