I am in need of the News Gothic MT font. I used to have it, but after I did a clean install of windows, it's no longer there. I specifically need the bold version of the font, as it's not included in the file I have for it. Please e-mail the files to me (must be in TTF format) at kg2oy@arrl.net . Thanks!

socalgal: What version of windows are you using? If you're using windows 2000, there's a trick to it. What you have to do is enable "Expand Control Panel" from the Advanced tab in the taskbar properties. Then go to Start->Settings->Control Panel->Fonts and right click on the font files and click on Copy. Then paste them to any folder (the desktop works). It's then possible to attach them to an e-mail or send them via AOL Instant Messenger, etc.

~edit: YGM socalgal.

YGM - Looks like it's still not working in Win98, and I don't have the correct fonts in W2K, sorry http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

Sorry for not posting it was sent JW,
I was making it sure it worked when I found a problem with one of my mail accounts not working and got distracted.
Glad you got it. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
Dave

Edit- I unchecked the "archive" attribute, You may want to change it back. Either that or the way I was trying to copy it was giving me a problem when I was trying to send it to myself as a test.-edit

Dave_H: Worked great. I'm now able to use the bold version of the font once again. Had no problems getting it installed. Just saved it to a temporary directory, and had the Windows font installer check that directory for fonts, and it installed fine. Thanks again!

Dave - How did you do it? I got to know! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Socalgal,
When I right clicked on it, I didn't get the usuall options to send or copy, but I could right "hold" and drag it to my desktop and choose the "copy here" option. Interestingly, the name changed to "Nwgthcb.ttf", and I had to name it back.
From the desktop I could send or attach in the normal way. I'm sure there must be an easyier way, I remember having a real tough time the first time I needed to do this. (I like the font: Abadi MT condensed extra bold, for my start menu and it doesn't come standard with windows anymore).

Thanks, Dave! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I just tried what you said (in Win98) and it works just like you stated, except the name didn't change - it stayed at NEWSGOTB.TTF for me. Just sent myself a test eml and sure enough it came through! I just saved in C:\Windows\Fonts and it asked if I wanted to overwrite. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif (I didn't try in W2K)

I wouldn't have thought to right-drag to the desktop - I love learning new things like this... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Oh, and I looked, but I don't have that Abadi font http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
