IE5 took my boot screen

can anyone tell me how to get my win. 98 boot screen back? Ever since I got the IE5 upgrade, it starts now in text.Everything seems to be working correctly but I dont feel that MS was being very fair to the people who downloaded and was not advised of the many changes that would take effect. This may sound like a dumb thing to be concerned about , but it pisses me off.

what is the file name of the original win.98 splash screen? I have several named logo.sys and I also tried saving a picture as a .bmp,and naming it logo.sys and saved it in c: and in the windows folder also and it`s still doing the same thing. I`m about to give up. It`s not that I`m in love with the win. 98 screen,I just dont like things being changed without me knowing about it first. thanks!

That is weird. That didn't happen to me when I upgraded to IE5.

dab-try this-Extract Tweakui from your W98 CD. Go to tools-reskit-power toys-right click on Tweakui.inf and choose install.

An icon will be placed in your control panel-choose the boot tab-check Show splash screen re-boot.

To make a "splash screen" for the bootup get the "photo" you want (bitmap format) and rename it LOGO.SYS and place it in your root dir. C: Strange thing that happened to you http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif When I upgraded to IE5 it didnt change any of my "splash screens".....I have custom ones (star trek) for Bootup, Shutting down and Poweroff http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
