Well, my crew finally decided to break down and call tech support at DFI when we could not make the K6xv3/66 do any better than 20mb burst rate. We were setting up systems for submittal to committee to populate desks in a new department. Anyway, we covered the boards with questions. We had very knowledgeable people give suggestions. 7 systems worked, but we could not get the DFI to meet specs. Finally after a week of waiting and harrassing emails to get some support, they send an email...Try the PCI IRQ drivers. Well, heck we hadn't thought of that...No wait, did it about a hundred times. So after much haranguing their boss gets on the email, so sorry but the board you see doesn't actually do ata66 per se, but rather it acts in the spirit of ata66 specification. I am mad at this point...Not the money, I wasted more hours on the system than the bloody board could ever be worth. But rather the run around and the lack of FAQ's related to this on site. They are still advertising it as ata66, touting the 66mb burst rate, but it barely does burst at 19. The transfer rate, I swear to god is slower than my quantum bigfoot 4 gig that I threw away for poor performance. Anyway, just wanted to warn you guys, the soyo, abit, and asus boards all did well, those that didn't natively support 66 at least had the common sense to enclose a controller board from another company. I oughtta hack there site. No wait that would just be wrong. Anyway, seizure...Bill
