Can anybody explain me why after upgrading
my M/B for Abit BE6-II my Linux RH6.1
works perfectly like before and Win98 (also
SE) can not even complete setup with
minimum configuration (I removed Diamond
Monster MX300 and CD-ROM, disabled UDMA/66
and floppy) but only "blue screens" appear
after Win finds any of devices.
I flashed today new BIOS -QJ but same result.

Go to this Newsgroup and ask that Question, it is an IRQ problem,(IRQ SHARING) but I'm not that versed in the issue of solving the problem for you but I can steer you to some geeks that can. news://216.242.22.54/
Post your problem there as a lot of Abit overclockers and people who are familiar with Abit IRQ issues are on this board.

The only solution I found for my MoBo
was to shift my harddisk to IDE3 channel
(UDMA66) and installed Win98 - w/out any errors. Then I shifted drive back to IDE1
(DMA33). I need this b'cause I mainly work
on Linux n last stable kernel does not support HPT366 controller.
One bad thing is that it is impossible
to install any of devices with HDD on IDE1-2
as Win98 setup program hangs OS immediately
