I bought a used Compaq Armada 7710MT laptop. The seller gave me the login password -- all was well.
Then I decided to reload Windows NT to eliminate the network setup and operate the laptop "stand-alone."
Bad idea! It changed the login! So-o-o, I went into the bios setup and reset the password -- all was well again.
Did a few setup changes, very minor.
Then I shut down.
When I tried to boot up again, well -- all was not well!! I got a "power-on password" request. I went to a Compaq site and it notes
that I must remove the case and turn the jumper switch off, and back on, to remedy (delete) the "power-on password" request.
H-e-l-p! Isn't there a quickie way to address this problem???
Thanks.
Dennis
