Hello,
I purchased a new motherboard and tried configuring my ISA PnP Sound Card ( ESS 1868 ). Now Windows detects it and it even
installed the hardware but the volume was always at the lowest. even if i tried to increase it, the volume control would slide to the lowest position. Now what could be the problem? pls help asap..
thanx in advance.
What motherboard and which operating system are you using on your system. That will make a difference.

I dont want to come off like an ***,this is just my take. The problem is the card, for sound cards there is only two choices in my book.
Any SoundBlaster, from there lowly SB16 to there Live Platinum. There the best for compatiblity and reliabilty. They just plain work with any system, ever here the term SoundBlaster compatible?Every game made is just that, and every other sound card maker wants to be "SoundBlaster compatabile"
Another good card maker is Turtle Beach, there Montego series of s/cards start at a very reasonable $22.00 according to pricewatch.com and they go all the way up to there studio grade for a smooth $650.00.
If this system strapped you and can't afford alot I can help.I have a few SoundBlaster Golds that I got a great deal on if your hurtin for cash I can let one slip out.Just drop me a line at my e-mail and make a reference to this artical.
