bought a be6-2 and it only has one isa slot well that ment that i either had to buy a new modem or sound card,i had a boca 33.6 and a sound blaster awe 64 the modem is great because its not a win modem and my phone lines in my area can only transfer at about 28 or 29k so so i got a aureal 3d vortex2 and instaled it. when i went to rebot it would lock on me so I tried to get into windows through dos and it said"hymem.sys is missing, but hymem.sys was still in the dir when i checked.needles to say im not a expert on dos yet so i had to format and reaload windows tryed it agian and got the same thing.
well my freind and i built a pc a couple of days ago and used the same set up exept his sound card is a sound blaster live and as soon as we loaded the drivers for it it did the same thing but he is more computer iliterate than i am and i told him to reinstal windows but some how he managed to unplug the sound card and uninstal the drivers in safe mode and everything worked fine.I however could not even get into safe mode.we are both using voodoo 3 3000 abit be6-2 and thats the only thing that we are usimg that is the same .
does anyone have a idea on whats going on?
