I really like ZoneAlarm, I think its a pretty good program.. BUT.. I can't use it! - Without my system being unstable that is. If I use it, I get blue screen error messages 4 - 6 times a day! Something to do with BFC... blah blah.
I didn't know it was ZoneAlarm, until I uninstalled it for other reasons.. The blue screens stopped.
What should I do?!
Do you have the latest version? I've heard of other people haveing this problem with earlier versions.
I have 2.1.3 and that upgrade checker says it's the latest.

2.026 is the only version that didn't cause bsod's for me. Even the new version, 2.1 did. If you need the setup for 2.026 I have it.

$19.95 is for business use, for personal use it's free as it has always been.

Here's 2.1 but I was just experiencing some problems with video with this version.
I went back to ver 2.0.17 because I never had any problems with it.

I believe there is a problem with version 2.1 also.
When I am scrolling the mouse wheel, it seems to hang-up in a jerky motion (stop and go).
When I play a Solitaire card game, the same thing happens. When I drag a card from the pile to another pile, it stops and starts.
I've shut down ZoneAlarm and everything goes back to normal.
I've emailed support but haven't heard back from them as yet.
I will advise when I hear from them.

I'm using the very newest version 2.1.3, which I believe is a beta, but I'm not sure. So some problems can be expected...

The current program I am using is:
Version 2.1.7
This is the one I am having problems with. And it does the same thing on 2 machines.
Shut it down and everything works ok.

Thanks, guys! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
I have two versions in my download directory, so if the latest doesn't work, I can go back; the older one seemed to work fine (after the brouhaha and all... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif )

Edit: R[][]FER just posted a new update, maybe this will fix some of the problems some of you are having... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/005490.html

According to mine it states Version 2.0.16. I have this both on my computer and my duaghters and have had no problems. The original version did some strange things but this one is fine. Does the 2.0.17 have the log included on it?? Maybe that's the bug???
Sometimes I have to download different programs with IE 4 instead of Netscape and they work better????? Life with a computer! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Socalgal,
This link pretty well explains the problems that I had with ZoneAlarm 2.1.7.
http://www.sysopt.com/forum/Forum4/HTML/002179.html
Installing 2.1.10 fixed the problem.

A couple of things to post.
Kookstick: The 19.95 version is for businesses
For those having BSOD's: I have been running this proggie since version 2.0 with little or no problems to report. I believe the problems are machine specific and not the programs fault. The more you stuff on your machines the more problems you are going to have!
As for the update check for ZoneAlarm, it hasn't notified me of any new version since I was running 2.0.6 and I'm now using 2.1.7. That is one of the problems that I have been having.
