Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : 3 million minutes to copy files!
At work last night we were copying about 5 gigs of files betwenn local hard drives as a backup. It was on a W2k machine. The little box that says the time remaining was showing over 3 million minutes remaining. Yikes, that would be almost six years. We just left it and went home. I hope it is finished now. If not, I guess we will have to buy a new computer while it finishes copying....LOL
awe - come on - some microsoft downloads take 5.7 years - think of the overtime - after all - you've gotta watch it complete - right?
if you never left - 76% of that would be overtime - that's 37,949 hours of overtime at time and a half - - at a base minimum pay rate of 5.15/hour U.S. - that's $293,156.00 in overtime pay and 11 weeks of comped vacation time.......
by then your significant other would have left you or declared you dead so the money would be all yours after taxes - a fresh start with a pile of money!!!
another factor would be that the data you finished backing up would be hopelessly out of date and it wouldn't matter if it was right or not unless it was Whitehouse E-mail.... hehehehehe

HEHE....I was reading it right, 3 million minutes. It was finished when I came in the next day. Those estimates are never really accurate, but this was rediculous.. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
Once M$ win2000 showed I have 6.5 EB data on the disk and 8.9 EB free space.
1 EB = 1,000,000 terabytes in case you don't know.
