I really love my cable modem...WHEN IT WORKS!

Seems there are problems with cabling caused by city construction here...MediaOne told me they would replace the underground wiring after the city finished it's work...

THAT WAS A LINE OF BS!

My Lancity Modem looses signal about 3 out of 7 days accumulatively...I keep calling MediaOne tech support, they keep sending a tech out who looks at my wiring and say no problem found then he leaves...totally ignoring the fact the wiring underground is cut taped and spliced to the point of needing replacement!

If anyone in the Jacksonville area wants hi speed internet access...GET DSL!

In other words...MEDIAONE SUCKS!

hope you get better service in soon....i am using roadrunner cable service...adn when they had serious problems getting me installed i called SWBell and they told me they would have service by 2002 in my area.
then swbell called here yesterday and tried to sell me ADSL...when i questioned em about how far from the switch I am and what they could offer that i was not already geting they hung up on me....

I'm sorry to hear about your Media One problems. They have been promising me cable service since last October - it's always a month away....

Can you still be connected to a dial-up connection so you would have some backup plan?

Yes I can, and I'm just about to install a backup modem in my server.

It's still BS!
