I was given a motherboard and not knowing the maker I have had problems getting it to work. Is there any ID of who made the board somewhere on the board. I cannot get my PII450 to work, may not have jump settings in the proper setting. But not knowing the board Manufactor or which jumpers are the correct ones. Can someone please help in somewhat lamen terms. Thanks

Try this site, it's helped me a whole lot in building older systems: http://venus.spaceports.com/~canada/webhq/index.html
They even have a BIOS ID utility (1st one on the download page is the best one) if you so happen to find the string. This site will not only find your maker, but also (help to find) a manual too.

I'd look for names on the printed circuit board.. and furthermore look on the side of first and/or second ISA (or if no ISA then PCI) slots for stickers with info... post them.. we'll try to help.
