I have a BE6 with 128mb ram and a PIII 550.
My question is, how can i get rid of the screen for highpoint at startup? It is pretty annoying since I have opted to run on the regular ide coz the ata66 is making my computer freeze up.

I had the same problem with my BE6 2. In the bios there is an option to disable the Ultra 66 support. I disabled it and it quit posting the message. Hope that helps?

No such luck, my BE6 doesn't have that in the bios unless I am not looking in the right place. What was yours under?

Is your hard drive recognized in the BIOS as a regular EIDE device and/or is your HD plugged into the regular EIDE controllers vice the ATA66 ones?

the harddrive can run at ata66 but i've been having too many problems with that setup so now i have nothing connected to my ata66 IDE's. The Harddrive is plugged into the regular ata33 ide.

Sounds like you do not have your Highpoint device drivers installed or installed properly. I struggled getting those drivers installed until a nice online person showed me the way.

Its a burger to get the drivers installed, follow the manual carefully and enjoy the speed increase.
