I recently moved from the ASUS K7M to the Gigabyte and am *very* happy now. (I had many problems with the ASUS!)
My system is:
Gigabyte GA-7IX with Athlon 600
128 MB PC 100 memory
Razor Boomslang USB/PS-2 mouse
Elsa ERazor III TNT2
SB Live
MS Natural Keyboard (USB/PS-2)
Inwin Q500 Full Tower with 300W power
D-Link 530TX+ NIC
The only thing I have a problem with is this:
I have a Razor Boomslang 1000 mouse. I can use it in the PS/2 port or a USB port. When I connected it to the PS/2 port, Windows 98 would load and tell me no PS/2 device connected.
So, my solution was to intall it on the USB port. It works great there...but when I restart/reboot, the mouse is locked up. I have to disconnect the mouse from the USB port...wait about 10 secs, and then reconnect it. After that, my problems are solved and the mouse works again.
I have tried this mouse on other systems (USB and PS/2) and have had no problems whatsoever! My last system was a FIC 2013 w/K6-2 450...not a problem with it there...
My MS Natural Keyboard would also occassionally lock up (at start-up) if connected to the USB port...but I do not seem to have a problem with any other USB devices (Intel USB Microscope)
Any ideas?
