new board wont boot

just put together new system,,,soyo sy-6vba 133, PIII 450. turn it on, no beeps..fans run..power light on..no video message or nothing..help!!!

The usual culprits here are ram or video card not fully seated. Some take a lot of force to really seat right. Should beep, but start with those anyway.

thanks...i have tried that. didn't work..tech support??? says maybe a stand-off is causing ground to case..i'll see...

Good practice is to go one thing at a time.. if you can use another video card.. if nothing happends.. user cpu.. memory.. well you get it.. finally you could use your config from other working box.. (everything execpt mobo {and i mean power supply too}) if there's nothing at that point.. you'll be sure its the motherboard.

Only other thing I can think of is the cmos jumper.

thanks for suggestions...video card works in another puter..don't have another cpu or mem to try. i did try with MB out of case , tech sup said maybe was grounding to case...no change. no beeps without or with video in ..or with mem in and out. maybe bad mb or cpu...
