Abit BF6......Help

I bought this board and it came with clips to install the cpu...I have a p3533 processor but the clips don't seem to work with it...on the package the clips came in it said universal..but it only mentioned p2 and celeron...help..do i need clips or can i install the chip without the clips....

I have BF6 and the retention mechanism brackets fit my p3-500 just fine.. check to see if the brackets are firmly in place.. if there's still a problem I guess you could get new ones from local pc shop (~$2).
