I don't think it's anything on my end - I'm on a LAN >> T-1 connection and other sites are loading fine -

Is one of the servers down?

I was having the same trouble earlier this afternoon, and I am on from work right now where I have an isdn, and other sites loading fine.

It seems to be working ok now though

I'm not sure what the problem is. I'm a DSL connection, and this site seems to get SLOWER and SLOWER everyday!

It can take up to 1.5/2 WHOLE minutes to load the General Discussion page. (for me).

AND.. Its ONLY the Sysopt pages, all the other sites I visit daily are fine.

It was slow for me earlier today - late morning, early afternoon. It's fine now.

This site has become extremely slow! I feel as though I am on a 14.4 modem. It is not my connection because all other pages load fast.
Just went to the Bandwidth speed test (http://computingcentral.msn.com/topics/bandwidth/speedtest500.asp) and here are the results.

Raw Data:
If you're just dying to see the raw data used to calculate your download speed, here it is:
· download start time: 955121438623
· download end time: 955121440716
· download time: 2.093
· download size in thousands of bytes: 500
· estimated line speed (K bits per second): 1949.4
estimated line speed (K bytes per second): 238.9

Now what is going on with sysopt? There has to be a reason for this. It has been this way the last few days.

~~
Strange just installed IE5.5 and it is now normal. But the other sites I have been to today have been fast all morning.

Looks like the technical issue has passed - I'm not having any trouble today - things seem to be back in order.

Whenever you experience a slowdown, try doing a traceroute to sysopt.com and email the results to me at sdw@sysopt.com. If you don't have a traceroute utility, I'm sure socalgal will post a link to one here, or anyone else, please feel free. The traceroute will probably **** out one or two servers deep within Globix.net, which is normal.

The main page seems to be slow as molasses, but after I get into the forums I am ok.

I will do that Scott, thanks.

Usually the site is fast but sometimes it is extremly slow.
