Have a strange issue. If I run the version of hardware Doctor which came with the soyo board, I get unusual readings & beeps. It shows my fan as running 140,000 rpm (good trick). Even if I shut off the beeping for those areas out of standard specifications, I still get strange beeps; can not seem to shut down HW Dr. either; need to exit, then reboot before it shuts up.

Contacted SOYO tech support. They suggested I load new drivers, which I did(drivers from their web site). No change. Has anyone had the same problems? More germane, if you did, have you found the fix?

While not an earthshaking event, I would like to resolve this. Am expecially concerned since I have finally resolved some video & memory problems and am ready to begin playing with overclocking; want to make sure the readings I get re: cpu temp are accurate.

Thanks

Bill McKay in Boston where the temperature today was an unbelievable 62 degrees F.

Hi Bill, I had the same problem/ tried fixing it to no avail... It went in the trash bin ( hardware doctor that is ), and I now use motherboard monitor to detect temps and voltages ... use the winbond p2 thermal diode setting and you'll be set http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks for the tip. I will give it a shot.

While on the topic of that board, do you get a strange 3.3 volt reading. Mine shows 3.58 or so which is definitely not within specs for an ATX board. I contacted the vendor where I bought the board; he claims it is normal and that the test board he was using showed the same voltage reading. SOYO tech also claims the same. (Sounds like the old automotive dealer response-'they all do that'.)

Does not seem to have caused any problems to date, but it is something I have a nagging concern about.

By the way. I am really impressed with the SY6vba. Good price, well built, nice features. The Norton Ghost & image are almost worth the price of the board.

bmcKay55, yes my 3.3v is 3,58, also to note, on my previous board ,< an asus p3b-f > the same occured. I did sum extensive reading on the subject, and came to the conclusion that the higher value is a Major plus in the overclocking dept. I wouldn't worry to much about it, as some boards have options to raise it even higher http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
