I have a Abit BE6-II and an abit slotket. The problem I am having is that the slotket doesn't fit in the slot right. Slot1 Celerons do but not this slotket. When I boot up the PC I get a long beep and that is all. Now in trying to get it running I think the slot on the MB is worn down. I can't get it to see a slot1 or that slotket cpu. Is this a problem w/ BE6-II or me? Or MB in General.

Do you have a loop or magnifying glass - try to look into the slot and find some foreign matter in there or take your vacuum hose and suck it out - it would take a heck of a lot of insertions to wear down a slot.....

Thats what I would have thought I took an air can and blew it out pretty good. Maybe that had something to do with it.?

Borrow another slotket from someone and align them to see any differences - maybe your pcb wasn't "finished" properly..

I found the problem. The mounting kit wasn't the right one that they sent me with it. I put a different mounting kit and now it works fine. Just having problems getting it to run @550 http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
