For any one having problems with the BE6 Ultra 66 IDE booting from the hard drive. Im here to let you know what to do. First make sure you have the 1.21 version of the HPP366 Bios then if you still cant boot.....TO BAD, because Highpoint, the makers of the bios for the Ultra66 ports on the BE6 still have not fixed all the bugs, after spending hours on the phone with Quantum, (I have a Quantum Fireball CX Ultra66 20.4GA HD) Abit and Highpoint, it has been determined that Highpoint and ABIT need a new bios, and I mean newer than the beta being released something in the next 2 weeks. SO just hold your horses, eventually they will get it right.

Thanks Quazar for the info. At least now I can stop blaming myself for not getting this to work. I have tried everything I could thing of including what everyone else was suggesting. It always came out the same...no ata66. I think this really sucks that these two companies can market there product when it does not work as advertised....at least in my case.

you're not the only one to be ticked off by this calamity. When you don't have a spare hard drive (UDMA 33) to flash the bios, the situation presented is a genuine "catch 22."
