VX Pro chipsets are usually PCChips www.pcchips.com (http://www.pcchips.com) motherboards, but if you need to now exactly which of their boards you are using, write down the the BIOS string while it posts (bottom left hand corner of the screen) and then go to www.ping.be/bios (http://www.ping.be/bios) and you can look that number up.

If you have any problems, post back here and someone can help you.

Hi,

if it's a VXpro, then it's a PC-Chips M537. VIA Apollo-VP chipset, 66 MHz max, linear voltage regulators. This all limits you to Intel processors, or low-revving Cyrixes (no more than PR200). No 64-MByte DIMMs either.

If however that's a VXpro+ (M537DMA33), that one has VIA VPX/97 chipset, 75 MHz max, DIMM size up to 128 MByte, switching voltage regulators. This will take you up to a Cyrix MII-333 (75 MHz 3.5x flavor!). No 2.2V support, hence no K6.

If it's a VX-Pro+, have a look at www.zarniwoop.force9.co.uk (http://www.zarniwoop.force9.co.uk)

Mine runs a K6-2 @ 412, have confirmation of one running at 450!
