I am going to put a PC in my car. The motherboard needs to be as all inclusive as possible. I don't want to have any cards in the slots so that I can minimize the heighth. This is what I'm looking for.

* the processor should be a flat kind (AMD K6 or Celeron) not Slot 1. This machine will have three functions and that is it. 1-Collect data from the serial port from the car's engine (a p90 laptop runs fast enough for this). 2-play MP3's via WinAmp. 3-Possibly run a GPS program.
* Needs to have TV-out. The standard video out will not be used at all. I have a stereo that accepts a/v in NTSC or PAL in either standard or 16:9 format. I would prefer if the video is capable of OpenGL.
* On board LAN
* Would like disk-on-a-chip for fast boot-up.
* four channel audio. I would like to be able to play MP3's from this but I want to be able to have front and rear sound.
* standard ports: 2x serial port, 1x parallel port, 1x PS/2 Mouse Port, 1x AT Keyboard jack, 2x USB port.
* as much on board cache as possible would be great.
* as inexpensive as possible.

Thanx, Dave.

You can buy a stereo/pc for you car for about $1500. But I can't remember who makes it! I will think about it and let you know. Cartronics sell it. If you have one nearbuy.Or just check out your local car stereo shop.

This may or may not be what you are looking for. http://www.autopc.com
This is a clarion car stereo/pc runs on windows CE. I played with it a few months ago and thought it was cool.
