i have an EPOX MVP3G-M motherboard with an AMD K6-2 400 cpu. tried to flash upgrade bios. somehow the backup of my original bios got corrupted when saved to floppy. Can't boot. EPOX mailed me a copy of the bios. When i put it on a system disk in a drive i get:
Award Boot Block Bios
V1.0
Copyright (C) 1998
Award Software, Inc.
BIOS ROM Checksum error
Keyboard error or no keyboard present
I hit ENTER and get:
Detecting floppy drive A
media...
Drive Media is: 1.44 Mb
Twice, i have made a bootable disk WITH DOS 6.22 and with Win 95. I tested this disk on 2 other computers before attempting to boot my damaged one. What could be causing my bios not to recognize this disk as a system disk?
A friend who programs EPROMS suggested that i short out the bios chip leads.
THANKS ALL
