I know a company has put out a MB with an SIS chipset, that has a slot1 and socket 370 interface on the same board. It also has integrated video, sound, 10/100 ethernet, and modem. This is just what I need to fill out a second system dedicated to RC5 cracking. If someone can tell me who makes it and hopefully what model it is I would be gratefull.

It might be PCHIPS model M748LMRT, don't remember chipset. It has everything 'cept the kitchen sink'. Don't expect support, you could die of old age before they ever answer, and their manuals are poor at best.
If that's the board, good luck.

Thanks, I think you got it. The manufacturer doesn't inspire much confidence I agree. Other than RC5, and maybe some light file serving, it's not going to be much more than a door stop. Trying to do it on the cheap, at $81 the motherboard doesn't have to be perfect. Any other dirt cheap slot one MB anyone would recomend? On board video would be desirable ( I know, shudder ), but if not oh well.

SIS 630 chipset motherboards just seem to be showing up as of early Nov 1999. Lucky-Star is the only one I know about but I expect them to replace the 620 soon.

I have Amptron3478LMT with sis620 chipset. Overclocked c366 to 550. Runs stable, and i mean it. Good manual, it is available on the net as well (there site is www.amptron.com) (http://www.amptron.com))
My board has 8Mb AGP video card with 3d accelerator, modem, lan card, sound, etc.
Whole system cost me a little over 550$ including case, keyboard, mouse, speakers, amp, 128mb of pc100, 7Gb Maxtor HD, 50X cd-rom, CPU, etc. hehe. I am happy with it.
Trying to figure out how to put a voodoo 2 card, mobo has a PCI slot, i wonder if it'll work.

Hi!
The Amptron and PC-Chips mainboards are the same thing. There are 741LMRT (mATX) and 748LMRT (BAT) models.
Another incarnation of the 741LMRT (with a different BIOS) comes from ECS as P6SET-ML.
These all are SiS 620/5595 chipset, with Davicom PCI 10/100 LAN, C-Media 8738 PCI 3D sound and modem combo chip. The 620 north bridge chip brings an 8 MB shared-memory 3D VGA unit, DVD decoders and two UDMA66 IDE ports. The 5595 has two USB ports.
The boards are fine, the only complaints being that they have very little expandability and, more importantly, the onboard 3D VGA is very slow when run at 66 MHz bus (i.e. with a Celeron).
For low cost, use their M598LMR/M599LMR siblings for super-7, as AMD K6 series processors are 100 MHz bus. These boards use the SiS 530/5595 chipset - same thing, different CPU interface.
Next generation SiS chipsets 540 and 630 integrate 4 USB, 10/100 LAN, 3D sound, modem, 128-bit 3D graphics, DVD decoder, 2 UDMA66 ports and 133 MHz SDRAM interface - into ONE SINGLE HUGE CHIP. That will make for incredibly feature-packed boards, with less chips on them than ever seen before (and thus room for more than one PCI slot :-) and all the features that a low end to midrange user wants. 540 and 630 are presented at Comdex, are sampling for quite a while now, and boards should be here soon.
