Ahh, isn't that a sigh of relief for those with dead bioses from Abit mobos?

Yup. Contact them and they'll either send you a new bios for $10.50 or you can send your dead bios to them for reflashing at absolutely no cost. Of course, you eat the shipping and handling costs.
It sure beats buying a new mobo, doesn't it.

Boy, am I ever relieved. I can finally get my BH6 working again.

Here's the guy's reply from abit:
You can either purcahse a new chip from us for $10.50 or send the old one back to reprogram for free. If you want to purchase a new one, call the number blow to contact the RMA dept. If you decide to send the chip back, send it to

Not a bad price, if it must be done. I've heard some outfits charge up to $40 or more.

I got some funny stories with the BH6..
My old ones' PS/2 ports just died on me...100% of the time they wont work..And I got my friends comp to repair..alls fine cept it has a BH6 and about 10% that I start it, The PS/2's dont work. I just cut the power and turn it back on and then it works.

VERY odd problems on two different instances of the BH6.

Wish that was the case with older AWARD BIOS. After they merged with Pheonix BIOS, they stopped supporting BIOS from just a few years ago. Anyone with an award BIOS that isn't Y2K and can't find a flash off the mobo home site, either will be rolling back their clocks, or buying a $70 BIOS from an AWARD approved vendor. Not sure about AMI BIOS.
