[This message has been edited by Hawk (edited 11-06-1999).] plucky duck 11-06-1999, 09:20 PM That's right, make sure you "triple check" everything before the flash 'cause if you do it wrong or something goes wrong you'll see $200 flashing out of your wallet faster than a lightning. This just happened to me yesterday. My Abit BH6 is a dead guy 'cause a bad sector on my A: drive caused the flashing process to stop in the middle of the flash. So please do be very careful. Just got a new Abit BE6 today, everything up and running but just can't get Ultra66 to work with my western digital drive yet. Abit suggest I install the controller as a SCSI device, but then Windows98 installs it as a PCI controller. After installation though, I can't get the western digital drive utility WDATA66.exe proggie to detect my WD drive in DOS or BIOS, although it is detected and works perfectly fine in Windows98...any ideas??? ****, if I didn't messed the BH6 up, I would've bought the BE6-2 in 2 weeks when its out. I chose a BE6 over a BP6, is that a good idea or a bad idea do you think. I chose the BE6 mainly 'cause it has more FSB above 100mhz, 1/4 PCI dividers, and support for both Slot 1 and Socket370. But then I lose dual cpu support. Aargh! Why is life never perfect? chipbgt 11-06-1999, 09:43 PM I think I will take there advice and go with the "If it aint broke dont fix it" approach......you peopel scare me! /forum/smile.gif Hawk 11-06-1999, 11:07 PM chipbgt, Didn't mean to scare you. If the latest revision doesn't offer anything you need right now then just take some time and learn what you can until you feel more comfortable with it. Here's a better link for instructions. www.asus.com/Products/Motherboard/flash.html (http://www.asus.com/Products/Motherboard/flash.html) plucky duck, I'm not that familiar with the Abit boards and haven't moved up to Ultra66 yet. You might want to post it as a new topic so that others will see it better. I'm sure someone can help you. plucky duck 11-07-1999, 05:47 PM Never mind everybody, I've gotten the Utra66 to work with my hard drive now, but a little dissappointed as it offers no real world performance gains.
