Boxsters are ugly, eh? Try looking at one head on - tell the difference between it and the Carrera? No? Hmm, maybe that's because the only difference in the front end is the bumper. It also uses the same EXACT doors. Bottom line - the current model boxsters and Carrera Cabs are virtually identical in looks except for the rear end. Oh, and by the way, there is also a $30,000 price difference - not only do I think the Boxster S is as good as the Carrera, as do countless automotive publications, but I also know that the 911 is not worth $30k more.

The whole "Boxsters aren't real Porsches" argument is best reserved for those 911 owners who got burned by the high price tag and are pissed that people can get virtually the same car (convertible) for much less. That might change in the future when both cars get new looks, but for now...

I think both are stupendous cars - if you have the cash sitting around and don't mind the extra $30k, and just want a 911, then yeah, that's certainly fine. A 2000 Carrera Turbo Coupe, on the other hand, at $111k, is worth it! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
