I've got a Soyo 6BA+III and was under the impression that I could move the third thermal diode around where ever I liked, but it looks like it's already conected to something somewhere, as it gets a reading of around 49 degrees all the time. So could someone tell me what it's reading, or if it can be moved around what do I have to do?

I THINK its somewhere near the power supply since its way hotter than the rest of my system

The BIOS lists the 3rd temperature as Power temp so I think this is right.

I have the same motherboard and I'm using the hardware monitor that came on the Soyo CD on which I'm only receiving one temp. That temp is usually around 30C and is reported as the CPU. Isn't there temp monitor for the chipset also? The heatsink on my board was very hot to the touch so I mounted a 486 fan on it.

Thanks,
Carl

hmm..
I really have no idea what that third temp is. I would recommend using Motherboard monitor, although i am at a loss to what the website u can download it is. If anyone can help, its appreciated. MBM is a great program for sensing temps, and if u want to, they can be displayed in the system tray at all times.

You could try Hardware senors monitor,http://hmonitor.hypermart.net/ or MBM here,http://members.brabant.chello.nl/~a.vankaam/mbm/
