Can someone help me identify this mobo? It has an Intel Triton III chipset (SB82437VX and SB82371SB) It has another chip with SMC FDC37C932FA on it. There are 3 ISA, 4 PCI slots, 2 DIMMS slots, a socket 7 zif socket, and another slot that looks like it is for a Celeron. It does not look like an AGP slot but it is tan in color and has what appears to tall tabs on the ends. There is a white squire with the CE logo in it above a barcode and above the barcode is the number E139761. It is an ATX form factor. I have a picture but I don't know how to put it in this post. Thanks for any help you can give me.

hi devjoy

If you haven't ID'd this board yet, try using your Bios string (lower left corner of POST/memory count screen) and match it here http://www.ping.be/bios/

Good luck!

Socalgal, Thanks for the help. The motherboard is not installed yet so I can't use the BIOS ID string. I have found out that the beige slot near the zif socket is a CLEP (COASTs Module) used for adding cache to the board.

Gene C. Those are good sites. I was able to get some drivers that I needed for another computer.

I think the motherboard may be almost the same as one sold by Tiger Eye as a TE430VX. I still don't know who manufactured it though.

Thanks again for the help.

Ah...
Intel is the manufacturer of the TE430VX. They are commonly found in Gateway and Dell machines. Very rarely do you find a motherboard similar to an Intel motherboard, except another Intel motherboard, but there are a few. A couple boards come to my mind, both made for/by Gateway. One is an Intel board, the 'Hitman' (Bios ends in DQ0T) Check out www.gateway.com/support/techdocs/references/motherboard/dq0t/DQ0T.shtml (http://www.gateway.com/support/techdocs/references/motherboard/dq0t/DQ0T.shtml)

The other is a board made for Gateway by some unknown OEM. It is basically a knock off of the Hitman and TigerEye boards. Look at the back side of the motherboard, near the edge, for the word "Mailman" build right into the circuit board like a trace. I'm not sure of the link to a picture of it though.

800XL Thanks a lot. With the exception of the connector panel(where the mouse and keyboard attach), the gateway board looks like it is the same. I will also check into the other possibility you mentioned.

hi devjoy, I did a search on those chips - the only thing I could find was a summary of this link, and the link doesn't connect. I don't know if this is your board or not.
