I just replaced my old mb w/ an AOpen Ax6bc pro motherboard (my first mb swap...Wooohoo!!No major problems!) I'm running a PIII500 (o/c 580), 128 ram, V770 ultra, Voodoo2 SLI, MX300, 6.4 WD HD. Everything seems to be working fine, but I have two questions and I can't find AOpen website for technical help-what's up with that?! On bootup, there's no "beep". My old mb always beeped one beep on post. Is this unusual/did I do something wrong? Also, I can't seem to see how to boot up in "safe" mode. Is this a restriction of the mb or am I really stupid? Oh, and also after I power down the computer, I can hear a faint but audible very high "whine" coming from inside the computer...Any thoughts?? Thanks for any help!

Check the wire at the speaker for a broken contact. Check the speaker connector at the motherboard end and see if it is on the proper pins. Move or reverse it if you need to. It shouldn't matter but check for sound at normal clock speed if there is still no beep.

Press and hold the Ctrl key for SafeMode boot.
