Look in my computer for *.pwl When you find them, delete them. Badda Boom, Badda Bing! If you decide to go back to passwords later, they will be re-created. Later guys..... M Tex_Gex 04-02-2000, 04:33 PM Heres a little nore info Once you delete the *.pwl files and reboot a box asking you to set windows password will come up . Just make sure both fields are empty then press the enter key. No more password prompt.. Aloha johnpaul 04-02-2000, 05:14 PM Question Tex, Right now, I use a password and I enter it each time. When I do and then click on my dial-up icon, the "Save Password" box (which I have checked) is enabled and everything goes smoothly without having to enter the password for my ISP. However, if I click "Cancel" on the Windows password box, the PC still fires up, but the "Save Password" box for my ISP is no longer enabled, which requires me to enter that password. Are you saying that if I eliminate the need for a Windows password by the method you described, the password for my ISP will still be enabled? Does that make sense? JP 2canSAM 04-02-2000, 05:33 PM Johnpaul That is right If you use a blank password windows thinks that it is still a password even though it's blank and it WILL retain your DUN password. Wont have to enter password at boot up or dial up. Life is good. grandslammer 04-03-2000, 02:02 AM Thanks Tex, guess i forgot to add that. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif M johnpaul 04-03-2000, 05:20 AM Thanks, folks, I'll give it a try. JP johnpaul 04-03-2000, 04:58 PM Tex et al, I'm not able to make it work. I delete the *.pwl file using Windows Explorer, and reboot. I get a password box with my name in it. When I delete my name and hit Enter, I get a Windows Networking box saying, "You forgot to enter your user name. Click OK to enter it now." I cannot go any further without declaring a user name. What next? JP 2canSAM 04-03-2000, 05:46 PM johnpaul, You need to use a username but leave your password blank. ie when you delete the password list file and rebbot you will be greeted with the username and password box again. Enter a username and then hit enter without putting anything in the password field. Another little box will pop up asking you to confirm and just hit enter again and your all set. So if you username is johnpaul enter that in the Username field and then hit enter. Enter again to confirm and your done. johnpaul 04-03-2000, 06:26 PM Success, at last! Thanks, 2can. JP SysOpt.com
