Like I said, I have the soyo 5ema mobo, and it says you can only run up to a 400mhz cpu on it, but you can set it up to run a 500mhz - I know this because I fried my k62400 trying to http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif. It ran fine at 475mhz, btw. So, in the meantime, I'm using my "old" k62 300mhz, but I want a new one, and the 450mhz is only about $15 more than the 400mhz. Will it run it, or would that technically be overclocking, even tho it really isnt?

Thanks! I appreciate it. I didnt want to go buy a 450 and then end up wrecking it http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

No, it won't be overclocked.

I just took a look at the Soyo website (haven't been there in a while) and they have changed it alot. Check out the bottom CPU/MB compatibility Search

www.soyo.com.tw/indexsup.htm (http://www.soyo.com.tw/indexsup.htm)

And...if you run the search for manuals, there is an addendum. It lists settings for the K6-2 475 and K6-3.
