I have a dilemma. Actually, I don't, a friend of mine does.

He wants to build a very cheap computer that can run software like Office. Currently he has a 386. Is it possible to use ANY parts from this 10 year old computer? Something like at least a 233mhz, 32mb RAM, 2gb hard drive and 15in monitor. Sound card and modem are not needed. What does he need to build the cheapest computer possible? NOTHING has to be name brand. CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP.

I think you guys get the point.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Dirt Cheap barebones systems here:

Take a look at the Celeron & BXCel2000 barebones system. Worked with a few, and they are OK systems. Not as good as a BX by a longshot, but not bad either.
