Do you pull from the front of the role or from the back of the roll? Jim barry glisson 03-30-2000, 06:20 PM take it off the spool set it on the floor no problem unless it rolls out of reach. barry Susan 03-30-2000, 06:23 PM You know, it really annoys me when people put the roll on the wrong way. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif The front. Algee7 03-30-2000, 06:25 PM Hehe... There was a long, drawn out debate on this subject many years ago in Ann Landers' advice column. The majority agreed it should come over the top and hang in front. This IS true with paper towels; just look at the way the design is printed http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif My wife says Landers ended it by saying it was purely a matter of personal choice as far as TP goes... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif socalgal 03-30-2000, 06:45 PM Here, here, Susan http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif FYI: It's supposed to be from the top! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif jeana 03-30-2000, 07:22 PM Pull from the side! Susan 03-30-2000, 07:24 PM Would that be the right or left side? welsh wizard 03-30-2000, 07:31 PM I suppose it also depends on which way round you load yesterdays newspaper. http://thedam.com/cwm/smile/cwm/updown.gif other wise its personal choice. WW Susan 03-30-2000, 07:43 PM It might also have something to with whether one sits rightside or upside down. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif ~~Just ask my 6 year old daughter - she know's what I'm talking about~~ [This message has been edited by Susan (edited 03-30-2000).] Wiz 03-30-2000, 08:00 PM who uses toilet paper? J/K!!!!! i dont think it really matters, as long as it is there Gutter Ball 03-30-2000, 08:29 PM It goes on whatever side you can undo it from after you get in on the roller thingy http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif narayan 03-30-2000, 08:46 PM Off the sink or floor, left or right, if it's within reach! Dave_H 03-30-2000, 09:24 PM The front. If I'm at a friends house and I see it the wrong way, I change it. Dave cyclone2 03-30-2000, 10:35 PM At my house you keep the empty roll on the roller and the new roll on the counterso it doesnt matter! pickel 03-30-2000, 10:42 PM The Sunday paper usaully lasts all week ,unless there's a BUG going round!!!! Then those shopping bags come in handy. There's no wrong way to use thoses buddies, just pray you don't run out at the wrong time ... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif TIP: Low fiber diet will conserve on usage level!!!!! You know in the old days 80-90 years ago in Iceland they used gras and before that it was rocks that where found on the beach. So when you think about what people had to use at that time it makes me just happy to be able to use paper today http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif front-back- whatever http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Thor krusty the klown 03-30-2000, 11:52 PM Am I missing the point here, but in my books, as long as "le papier du merde" conforms to two criteria, this is OK. 1. Can a sufficient amount be removed from the roll? 2. Is it less abrasive than 'wet & dry'? U-96 03-31-2000, 12:04 AM hey WW, is it true that TP always turns the other way in your part of the world? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif U-96 grandslammer 03-31-2000, 12:14 AM See now, that's where we differ, I just clump up wads of toilet paper (clean.....) and put them in my pockets. Then whether I'm in the head, or just need to blow my nose, hey, I'm good to go. you know my motto, be prepared! M Glytzhkof 03-31-2000, 01:56 AM OK everybody here's the story: The toilet paper should come over the top and hang in front, period. When I was in the army we actually developed and was thinking to put up a poster called: "Correct procedure for toilet-roll changing" , but the problem disappeared before it was necessary to do that http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif. Mind you we did have to put up a reminder for people to remember to flush the toilet before leaving the scene. Pretty gross huh?. [This message has been edited by Glytzhkof (edited 03-31-2000).] BEOR999 03-31-2000, 02:48 AM there has got to be some wierd psycho meaning to the question, I'm an over the top man myself, so what does that say about me, am I mad or what http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif welsh wizard 03-31-2000, 03:06 AM U 96 not sure , I have been told it does but have never had the desire to stick my head down there and flush to find out, when the Baileys, Jameson or Red Eye get to much I have the whole of the harbour to aim at from one part of the section, http://thedam.com/cwm/smile/dvv/cwmstone.gif Pickle don't you just hate these modern news papers, the print always seem to come off on your hand, GSM whats it doing to the rear end department. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif WW WW krusty the klown 03-31-2000, 03:25 AM Here's the scenario: The turtle's popped its head out and you're halfway through 'the move'. The little red face I posted with this is a true representation of your facial expression given the circumstances..... Do you CARE whether the paper is over or under??? Do you think "Oh no you don't, turtle... back you go until I find a suitably hung roll!" In this situation, you're just so relieved to get something porcelain between your ***** and the carpet, that the presence of paper probably slipped your mind somewhere between dropping your kex and starting 'the move' R[][]FER 03-31-2000, 11:27 PM Top, bottom, side, over , under, countertop, turtle smurtle...WHO CARES!!! I think the recycling thing is more important, as that's alot of pulp going down the drain and we could help to save the trees!! RECYCLE!!!!! GO Greenpeace, GO...No *****!!! plucky duck 04-01-2000, 12:03 AM Why use paper when you can use your HANDS? Wiz 04-01-2000, 07:26 PM Plucky, is that you?! I finally realized it! plucky duck 04-01-2000, 07:46 PM Hey Wiz, thanks for the great complement, but that's not me. He's my fav. HK pop artist. His moves are so wickedly smooth not even Michael Jackson or Ricky Martin can compare, @ least none of the other HK infamous people can do what he does. For Aaron, I call him an ARTIST. For others, I call 'em plain old vanilla singers. Too bad there's not a single Chinese person in here that shares my feelings towards him. As far as people complaining about my pics, I'll try to download PSP5 and shrink it down to size. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Way to go Aaron Kwok!! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Plucky ------------------------------------- http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gifGENERATION NEXT http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.angelfire.com/ak4/pluckyduck/Aaron22.jpg CONTRiC 04-01-2000, 11:17 PM I dont know about the rest of the people, but I have never been in a washroom in which I couldn't figure out how to use the toilet paper. Since there is no real big difference in the performance of the toilet paper based on the upward/downward position of it in the despensor, I dont see why everyone gets so worked up on the way it should be http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Maybe if the orientation of the toilet paper gave it super human cleaning strength (or just more quilted *grin*), i could see the concerns here http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif reddog4629 04-02-2000, 08:31 AM Nobody uses corn cobs any more? CMonster 04-02-2000, 11:03 AM Okay - I never thought that I would reply to a thread like this but still in the spirit of April 1st let me just say: I am currently devoloping a paper dispenser that grinds up and recycles old newspaper, then extrudes it as a soft sheet on demand - no more over or under stuff, and the paper comes out nice and warm.... it's a modified fax machine! And to solve that other age-old dilema, my next invention has a foot operated button located beside the comode; it raises the seat for us guys and then the mechanism gently lowers the seat automaticly when we remove our foot from the button. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif ladies happy now? [This message has been edited by CMonster (edited 04-03-2000).] Gomer 04-02-2000, 11:19 AM OVER THE TOP---for a good reason. Say that Mexican food you had for dinner rubbed you the wrong way and you need ten feet of TP in a hurry. With it over the top, just give the roll an overhand smack, and ten feet hums right off. If you had it from the back, you would have to manually reel 10 feet off or give it several underhand smacks. Much more time consuming. Just my 1/50th of a dollar =) Amarok 04-02-2000, 04:38 PM as long as it does not feel like a wire brush I dont care weather it is over the top or over the back. NavyDood_ F/A18_Mech 04-02-2000, 06:27 PM LOL.........
