Surely this old news to most, but I didn't see anything posted re: http://www.msnbc.com/news/387569.asp?0m=T13M&cp1=1

Thanks for that, Underclocked. I was planning on getting the SPs/SRs but have been too busy to do so as yet ... you've probably saved me (and others) a ton of hassle, as I hadn't seen that one yet. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I tried the update, and I can't even install it due to bug #8, even though my license key is part of a valid site license. I don't get it.

Even without the update, Office 2K is buggy in my experince. I can't have a subform in data view in Access without getting some error message about no free memory. Only a problem in 95/8 machines, it doesn't seem to affect NT4 and 2000 machines. But try having a Win2k machine with Visual Studio 6.0 installed as well as Office 2k, and you're in for hell.

I've installed SR-1 and the only problem I had was with using Word 2000 as my mail editor.

This was easily fixed by registering a .dll file.

Registering this file will take care of the oddities referencenced in the article at the URL above.

Installation issues are kept to a minimum by simply having the msot most recent Windows Installer installed prior to downloading the patch.

Right now, Windows 2000 users who upgraded from Windows NT shouldn't install the patch.

A revised patch will be issued in about 10 days.

Note: type this at the Run command line if, after installing SR-1 you are experiencing problems: RegSvr32 Oleaut32.dll
