ok, when a server has the isp logged, can it be changed whereas the original never shows up?

Only the systems moderator(Socalgal) and administation has access to the ip logs http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Yes an ISP can doctor their logs to erase any and all presence of a user - is that what you mean? Or, are you asking if it is possible to mask your IP address so an ISP can't track you?

If you mean our site specifically, we log the IP address (ISP) from which all posts are made at the time they are submitted, and we're the only ones who have access to those records as buddmann pointed out.

I run a ubb site, and unless sysopt has modified the software, it is not an option to change the IP# when it is logged.

We can manually change it via the command line, hypothetically, but why?
