First, I would like to know when replacing the motherboard, other than installing the actual hardware is there anything else that needs to be done, settings, etc..

Second, I was wondering if anyone knew a good replacement for a motherbaord I have that went dead:
AOpen AP5VM
11"(w)x 9"(h)
Socket 7 (for pentium 200 w/ mmx)
Ram: simm 4 slots ( have 16 x 2 mb)
dimm 1 slot
PCI slots: 4
ISA slots: 3
Amibios: American Megatrends (M156950)

Before you replace the motherboard, you should go into system properties (<start>, <settings>, <control panel>, <system> ) and remove ALL SYSTEM devices. That sounds really scary, and it is.
Let me say it again. REMOVE ALL SYSTEM DEVICES. Because, if you aren't reformatting your harddrive and reinstalling Windows (assuming you're using windows), your PNP bios will detect all the NEW MB features and ADD THEM to the already existing MB features. (system timer, system clock, etc.)
You CAN remove extra system devices later, or remove all system devices after installing all the new ones, but that's really a waste of time.
Good luck!
