POST problem - no video

Problem: on boot I get 1 beep, 4 lines of BIOS info then a grey screen and silence.

Equip: Asus P5A-B AT motherboard, Award BIOS,
AMD K6/300

Tried: PCI and AGP video cards
Tried: various memory sticks
Tried: exchanged motherboard at the store
Tried: from no peripherals to all the cards and drives in various combinations

Checked: Jumpers many times, web sites to confirm the manual, the board imprint to confirm jumpers.

This must be a simple thing I'm missing. Please help.

Have you tried resetting your BIOS?
