I know just enough to get into trouble. This Q & A venue has already been helpful, and I thank everybody for that. I have 2 motherboards with problems. Question... is the Postmortem MB tester worth the bucks? How 'bout the book "Bios Companion"... and the CD by the same people. ... If you have some background with these products, I would appreciate your opinion. Thanks... Callas

Ive yet to run into a diagnostic case where I had to use a external device to tell me the problem with a regular MB. I saw one problem with an intermittant backplane on a quad XEON server that it might have helped to diagnose, but I don't think the postmortem was designed for it because we would have had one to use if it was.

So, I can't justifiably recommend one!
