Susan. Aren't these motherboards actually PCChip boards? We should be able to find out from the bios string, no?

You're right, Bleeding Edge- found this:

www.electronicresolutions.on.ca/upgrades.html (http://www.electronicresolutions.on.ca/upgrades.html)

Martin, check out www.pcchips (http://www.pcchips) and look for a VX chipset MB that may match your friends. Good luck

Maybe the 500 series? What do you think Bleeding Edge?

He should be able to help his friend now. I'm thinking maybe we ought to take a look-see over at the Tech section under the topic: The Incredible Dead Bios. A couple from a small town in Argentina needing help.

..he has the Bios string listed.

Martin. Write down the Bios string; the long set of numbers displayed at system boot. Try identify the board by referencing Bios numbers here: http://www.ping.be/bios/

Martin -

The PC Chips website is a pain in the ****. There is much info there, but without the proper links from the main pages...

If you can get a Model # of the board, you can search with that number through hotbot.

In the past, this is the only way that I have found to get to that unlinked info.
