TK Bleeding Edge 05-11-1999, 08:59 PM Susan. Aren't these motherboards actually PCChip boards? We should be able to find out from the bios string, no? Susan 05-11-1999, 10:22 PM You're right, Bleeding Edge- found this: www.electronicresolutions.on.ca/upgrades.html (http://www.electronicresolutions.on.ca/upgrades.html) Martin, check out www.pcchips (http://www.pcchips) and look for a VX chipset MB that may match your friends. Good luck Maybe the 500 series? What do you think Bleeding Edge? [This message has been edited by Susan (edited 05-11-99).] Bleeding Edge 05-11-1999, 11:12 PM He should be able to help his friend now. I'm thinking maybe we ought to take a look-see over at the Tech section under the topic: The Incredible Dead Bios. A couple from a small town in Argentina needing help. ..he has the Bios string listed. Martin 05-12-1999, 05:15 AM the board he have ,hv a i430 chipset on "vx" but none of those does (@ pcchips).. tk Bleeding Edge 05-12-1999, 10:03 AM Martin. Write down the Bios string; the long set of numbers displayed at system boot. Try identify the board by referencing Bios numbers here: http://www.ping.be/bios/ Martin 05-12-1999, 02:16 PM Ya i know my friend..i was just try to find out what mobo he has before i go there(tomorow).... but if i understand u tell me that houston does no hv a website or are not using any intel chipset Susan 05-12-1999, 11:35 PM Martin - The PC Chips website is a pain in the ****. There is much info there, but without the proper links from the main pages... If you can get a Model # of the board, you can search with that number through hotbot. In the past, this is the only way that I have found to get to that unlinked info. Susan SysOpt.com
