I would like to know what usefullness a flash
prom has, I am considering a purchase and a feature on this Intel board is a 2M flash prom.

Any comments appriciated.

The EEPROM BIOS chip is Electrically Erasable Programable Read-Only Memory. It permits the reprogramming of the BIOS to accommodate upgrades that may be downloaded from the board maker's site.

Whatever you do, don't make the mistake of buying an Intel board. There are many other very good choices. What are your requirements? How did you choose Intel?
