Pardon my ignorance but what the heck does this "Turbo-button" next to the reset-button on the front of my cabinet do?

(changed the FSB).... but anyways you dont even need it nowadayz just disconnect it from the motherboard or just ignore it... 800XL 05-25-1999, 02:48 PM underclock is probably a better word. At the 486 level turning the turbo off would usually just disable the internal cache on the chip, making it perform more like a slow 386. If it hooked to the board, leave it, if not, leave it. Sometimes unhooking it will drop the system into non-turbo mode. You can fix that by putting a jumper on the right pins on the board, but it is probably best to leave well enough alone. nimrod 05-26-1999, 07:33 PM 800xl is spot on, unless you have a newer system built in an old box. in any event leave it on turbo.
