Hi !

Have you got a solution for this problem?
I tried all the '99 PCCHIPS Bios but I had the same result.
I wrote them, but nothing to do untill now.

What to do ?

Hi,

When I had my M571, I noticed that same effect when the power management was enabled in the bios(even if HD is not being power managed). Unfortunately, the only was around this is not to use the APM in the bios.

Also, check for the power management settings in Windows

This is assuming that you have that enabled in the first place...

It's not just that board. I've had that sort of stuff on my last 4 boards. Usually I just turn off APM and/or HD stuff in the bios and let windows deal with the monitor and drives. The rest of the APM stuff I don't use anyway so it's not a problem for me..

Thanks for the help !

Well, the APM of the BIOS is already disabled...but...before flash the bios again, do you think that enabling the APM on Bios and disabling everything it can control, could help me ?

There is no harm in trying... However, my symptoms where the opposite. I enabled APM in the bios and disabled everything and the HD kept spinning down.
