MR COMPUTER 05-03-1999, 08:43 PM If this is a new mb,press DEL,while booting to get into bios.If an old mb,unplug the fd data cable. This should hold up the boot sequence so you can get into the bios. mandrade 05-03-1999, 08:59 PM When I took the fd out it tells me to hit f1 to enter setup or escape to continue. I choose f1 but it acts as if I hit escape and continues to boot up. It is an older mb (thor) gateway I picked up on a auction. I should probably just let it be because it works fine. I am just nosey and want to see hoe the Bios is set up MR COMPUTER 05-03-1999, 09:40 PM See if you can clear the cmos,by changing the position of the mb jumper. Or,if it has a removable battery-take it out-power up/power down, then put the battery back in,and reboot. Try changing keyboards too! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif mandrade 05-03-1999, 09:59 PM Cool I will, I tried switching keyboards already, didnt do anything, I did the jumper for the password clear but not for the return to default yet. There is an update for the Bios I was going to try too what do you think? and by the way thank you for all your suggestions as I am new to this board and appreciate all the help! I will post again when I get a chance to try your suggestions! Thanks!!! mandrade 05-04-1999, 06:50 PM I found out that there was a jumper that could be set so you cannot access the bios!
