I just wanted to thank everyone for there help in my motherboard and processor upgrade. The only help I asked for was on how to flash the bios(and I didn't have to do that), but I learned a lot by reading the different responses to other peoples questions.
I up graded from a 166 to a celeron 400. My son and I had a blast doing it and about the only major problem we had was talking my Wife into letting us spend the money. I had to do a clean install of windows 98 and I was able to save most of my programs. Everything is running great and my son likes the extra speed for his games. This was my first experience doing a motherboard processor swap and you helped a lot.

Now you know why the snail riding on the turtle's back said "whee!".

What board and RAM did you get? Maybe your next adventure will be overclocking. The C400 is known to go 450 and sometimes 500.

I think over clocking is out of the question with a micronics C300. So I'm just going to say "WHEEEE!" with what I got!
I was on a tight budget, if you know what I mean.

There is nothing better for that price.
Congratulations!

Tech Specs for the C400 at Micronics's site indicates the board will support P3-500s and beyond. There must be some jumpers for selecting 100MHz FSB and other variables. They didn't mention bus speeds between 66 and 100, but they may be there. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
