I was wondering which PC magazine is the most informative? Actually which magazine is the most popular amongst everyone here? THanks

I also place my vote for Maximum PC. It's got more 'meat' than other mags and it seems like they don't have as many ads as some of the others.

I'll third that. Go get the April issue, it's PACKED with good info.

And BTW, it's $7 each on the newsstand, but only $12 annual to subscribe (in the US)

Oh good, I was wondering the same thing. Was planning on getting a subscription to a pc mag. Couldn't decide between PC World, PC Magazine and Maximum PC.

Thanks for making the decision for me! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Maximum PC has an unbeatable subscription price. Maximum Linux is significantly pricier, but a good mag (I'm subscribed). I also do like PC Magazine for a more rounded approach to the entire PC spectrum. Byte was always good for the full range of computing, but they've become less prominent over time (are they still even publishing?)

Until they quit publishing it was Windows Magazine. But in order of preference: PC World, Maximum PC & PC Magazine.

WOW, that's it, I'm getting a subscription to Maximum PC!!

Is it true that the subscription price is ~$1 per issue??

I used to get PCWorld Mag. they had more info. for the novice computer users, I already know/knew most of the info. in there. I did like the charts though, they helped me on buying a few products

www.smartcomputing.com (http://www.smartcomputing.com) <<= The "PC Novice Learning Series" is just that. A book for people who have little or no knowledge of computers. It's well illustrated and helps one gain perspective on areas that you delve into on a seldom basis.

Here's the link to Max PC's subscription page, which shows the price:

But - go get the April issue!! It's worth the $7!!!

After re-reading my post, I think I may have indicated this Magazine was only for beginners. Not so, the learning series may be geared toward that but there is other issues that cover lots of skill levels. ==>>About...

I too just subscribed thanks for the link. 12.00 a year is a hell of a bargain. I was once a fan of Win Mag before there demise. Hey Ed? Do you have a cheap link for Playboy? Haha!
